Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Court Services Supervisor, performs duties associated with the disposition of accused records and establishment of criminal record attachment.

 

1.    Prepares dispositions received from Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench, Youth Court, and enters correct dispositions for all RPS charges on the appropriate record on IEIS. Monitors all Court of King’s Bench and Appeal Court charges.
2.    Utilizes the Canadian Justice Information Management System (CJIMS), Criminal Justice Information Management System – Saskatchewan, Criminal Justice Information Management (CJIM) - Ottawa, IEIS and CPIC to accurately update, record and conclude charges.
3.    Enters priority court documents on CPIC (Conditional Sentence Orders, Probation Order, Community Supervision Orders Prohibition Orders, etc.).
4.    Monitors court order start dates, end dates, and condition amendments to maintain accurate CPIC information.
5.    Updates and concludes Accused entries on CPIC. Notifies CPIC Operator with Warrant amendments when charges are concluded or warrants are cancelled.
6.    Enters and modifies all RPS Criminal Records using the Criminal Justice Information Modernization (Ottawa) program.
7.    Validates and purges Court documents monthly as mandated by CPIC.
8.    Maintain updated Inmate Lists
9.    Communicate with Corrections, Probations, Prosecutions and Court for clarifications/amendments to documents, dispositions and conditions pertaining to orders.
10.  Ensures committed for trial indictment packages are received from QB court after conclusion and that all conditions, criminal record updates and prohibitions are entered prior to release date. 
11.  Other related duties as required.

Competencies


1.    Grade 12 or Grade 12 equivalent, and Office Education Certificate and/or equivalent. A police focused course is preferred. 
2.    Typing ability of minimum of 50 w.p.m.
3.    Thorough knowledge of IEIS, CJIMS, CJIM and CPIC. 
4.    Ability to understand and apply the codes of Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statutes, Traffic Safety Act, Parking Bylaw, etc. and the subsequent dispositions that can result.
5.    Understanding of the court system and court documents (Warrants, Undertakings, Probation Orders, etc.).
6.    Ability to organize documents and understand court procedures and terminology in order to appropriately track and record charge dispositions.
7.    The ability to process detailed, time consuming work with attention to detail.
8.    The ability to maintain organization and prioritize workload, as well as working both independently and in a team environment.
