Key Responsibilities

 

Under the direction of the Manager i/c Strategic Services, the Strategic Data Clerk is responsible for providing comprehensive support across various functions. This multifaceted role encompasses administrative tasks, data entry & management, beginner data analysis, assisting with policy development and implementation, and contributing to research and reporting initiatives. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a keen eye for detail, and possess a willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team.

 

(1)   Provide administrative support; Manage calendars and scheduling meetings for assigned personnel. Maintaining comprehensive filing systems for efficient information retrieval. Develop and format professional presentations and reports for internal and external audiences. Provide exceptional phone and email communication, ensuring a positive impression of the organization.
(2)   Data Entry & Management; Input and maintain accurate data within designated software programs, adhering to strict quality control standards. Participate in data cleaning and validation processes to ensure data integrity. Generate basic reports from established databases to facilitate informed decision making.
(3)   Research & Reporting; Conduct assigned research tasks by compiling and summarizing relevant information from various sources. Assist with the creation of reports and presentations, ensuring data accuracy and clear communication of findings.
(4)   Data Analysis; Utilize fundamental data analysis tools to identify trends and patterns within datasets. Develop clear and concise visualizations (charts and graphs) to effectively communicate data insights. Assist team members with more complex data analysis projects fostering continuous learning and development.
(5)   Policy Support; conduct research and compile information pertinent to Regina Police Service policies and procedures. Contribute to the update and revision of existing policies. Maintain and update relevant policy-related forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Assist with policy and form restructuring to optimize clarity, efficiency and user experience.
(6)   Other related duties as required.

Competencies

 

(1)   Complete Grade XII or Grade XII Equivalent and Office Education Certificate and/or equivalent. A Data analysis certificate or equivalent is an asset.
(2)   Minimum two years experience in a professional environment including experience with administrative tasks, data analysis, and report writing. Data entry experience is an asset. Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM.
(3)   Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and the ability to quickly learn new programs and adapt to evolving processes.
(4)   The ability to communicate clearly, articulately and professional both verbally and in writing.
(5)   Knowledge of sound research and analytical methodologies.
(6)   Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
(7)   Demonstrated proficiency in organizational and time management skills.
(8)   Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, upholding the highest standards of data integrity.
(9)   Understanding of data analysis concepts with a demonstrated ability to compile and analyze data is an asset.
